Beacon Theater NYC, 10.24.12 – Regina Spektor returned home to a sold out crowd of her adoring fans at the Beacon Theater earlier this week.
Spektor spread her wings with amazing vocal range and tonality…even singing one song in Russian.
I’ve always said I love seeing shows at the Beacon Theater…and hate shooting shows there. This was a back of the house shoot. Our positioning didnt allow us much for creativity. Couldn’t move around laterally. Couldn’t see her hands on the piano…only if they were up near her face. The lighting was ok except for the fact that you couldn’t see her piano.
Ain’t No Cover (a cappella)
All The Rowboats (very fast and electronic)
The Prayer of Francois Villon (in Russian)
Call Them Brothers (with Jack Dishel, her husband, who opened)
Dance Anthem of the 80s
Don’t Leave Me / Ne Me Quitte Pas
Ballad of a Politician (dedicated to Mitt Romney)
Sailor Song (with insane vocal solo)
