Brooklyn Bowl, Brooklyn, NY April 6-7, 2012 – Earlier this month, the North Mississippi All-Stars returned back to the Brooklyn Bowl for a 2 night stand. While Luther has some time off as the Black Crowes are on hiatus, he joins his brother Cody and bassist Chris Chew to serve you their offerings of southern fried blues rock.
Luther and family always come out high energy and play to the crowd in it’s truest form. Luther is a master musician and a joy to be around as both a person and a musician. His effortless style of play surely delivers in a big, satisfying and most comforting way. The rhythm section is solid in it’s purest form. Cody bangs his drums keeping the pace, moving the band along. Always an extra special treat when he breaks out the wasboard and throws down for a jam. Lately Luther has been bringing out a big drum to join in the fun. Lastly…bass player Chris Chew. He’s been a permanent staple in the band for years. I love what Chew brings to the table. These 2 shows were to be his last with the brothers for the foreseeable future as he is to return back home to his family and other work commitments. Another tremendously solid and nice guy. Chew…I wish you the best and to see you on the road again soon.
The boys mixed it up over these 2 nights…and playing 2.5+ hours sets both nights. Special guests over the 2 day run included Nigel Hall both nights, Hook Herrera, Jamie Mc Clean and Eric Krasno.
