Terminal 5, NYC 10.13.12 – One of my favorite singers…English crooner and former The Smith’s frontman, Morrissey, returned to NYC for 3 shows at 2 different venues. I was fortunate to shoot 2 of the 3 shows; one at each of the venues. Here’s a select bunch from his second show [Night 3] at Terminal 5 in New York City. [Night 1 pics from Radio City Music Hall coming soon.]
I’ve seen Moz perform quite a few times over the years. He most certainly wears his emotions on his sleeve. He sings to every single person in the room when he’s onstage.
Every so often I over-extend myself [in a good way]. Tonight, me and fellow music photographer Joe Papeo both had the same idea. We arrived at the Hammerstein Ballroom to shoot PIL at 8pm. They hit the stage at 8:25pm. We shot a song and a half and split. Hopped a cab for Terminal 5 at 8:40pm for a 9pm Morrissey start. We traveled almost a mile in NYC and got to the next venue at 8:45 just in time for Morrissey to hit the stage at 8:50pm. The photo pit was extra tight with security…for all the boys trying to get on stage and give Moz a hug.
