Philadelphia, PA 9.1.12 – Looks like my rigorous summer concert music festival schedule is finally winding down. I think this was my 7th or 8th music festival since May…I’m exhausted!!
I got a call 2 days before this festival was to take place asking me to join a crew and be the still photographer for a video production house working with the PR agency as well as Budweiser, the main sponsor. Needless to say I was stoked.
“Made In America” Music Festival is the brain-child of rapper Jay Z which made it’s innaugural debut earlier this month. The festival grounds started at the foot of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, spanned a few blocks wide and stretched back through a park for over a quarter mile along the Ben Franklin Parkway.
Day 1 of the festival drew 40,000 people. Highlight performances of the day were D’Angelo’s long-awaited return to the stage and no other then Jay Z.
Here’s a few shots of some of the bands I got a chance to shoot on the first day. There are links to full photo sets underneath each group of photos.
