Brooklyn, NY 3.20.12 – I don’t know where to begin about the band GOMEZ. Here is a UK indie rock band that I’ve been seeing perform live for the better part of the last 9 years or so. Such a talented bunch of young musicians. They are all multi-instrumental while splitting the singing/song-writing duties. They always keep it fresh and new. Always getting the crowd behind them. Always like one big party. Their sound is very versatile…it stretches into blues, indie, alternative, rock, folk, psychedelic and experimental.
Tonight was no different. The band played their second night at the Brooklyn Bowl and final night of their Quinceañera Tour in support of their latest album entitled “Whatever’s On Your Mind”.
Gomez hit the stage in fine form and immediately jumped right in and got the crowd involved. They ran through many of their classic hits as well as a nicely arranged “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”. At one point, their tour bus driver, Brooke joined them on stage and played pedal steel.
