Americas Cup Pavilion, San Francisco, CA. – Long time American rockers The Doobie Brothers stopped into San Francisco to play a show at the brand new outdoor America’s Cup Pavilion. I have such fond memories of my dad playing me some Doobie Brothers as a young boy back in Brooklyn, NY. 40+ years and over 40 million records sold, the band is still just as fun as I remember them being.
Check out my review in photos…
Just a few moments into the opening song, there was a “POP”. No sound from the amps, monitors or mics was coming through. Since I was right up front in the photo pit, I could only here the faint unamplified vocals. The band kept playing and singing for a bit more of the song until they finally stopped and stage hands came out to check everything out. I think I was just as surprised as the band was as in all my years of going to concerts, I have never seen that happen. 5 minutes or so later, the band jumped right back in with the sets second song. They tore through hit after hit for their adoring fans.
