Napa Valley Expo, Napa, CA. – Here’s a recap of Day 3’s BottleRock Music Festival live performances.
Check out my review in photos…
The Flaming Lips are known for their outrageously chaotic performances. This set was a bit different from the last time I saw/shot them. The show was devoid of the big hamster ball that Wayne Coyne is known for rolling out over the crowd as well as all the confetti and side stage antics. Instead we saw a solemn Coyne up on the podium, swaddling a baby, preaching and growling to the crowd.
I first heard of them at the end of last year when they opened up for The Who…and to my surprise were absolutely amazing. The energy they exude onstage is contagious. They play to their fans, soak up their energy and give it right back to them ten-fold.
Brittany Howard belts out the blues with another strong performance…
Hells Belles Burlesque:
Pleasant surprise of the day…
The Black Keys:
Another rip-roaring performance from The Black Keys. The dynamic duo does it again…
Long-time blues harmonica master…
Please stay tuned as I’ll be posting up full sets of some of the bands seen above in the near future.
