Warren and Bob work out some vocal arrangements before the studio session goes live on the web.
“Weir Here” is a live studio web cast where Bob Weir invites musicians to come through and jam out. What’s cool about the format besides the very intimate setting is that after jammming a few tunes, they take a break and move over to the desk/couch for a little Q & A. Then back to the jam…

Super Bob Weir.

Time for the first set break where Bob heads over to his desk; Warren and Trixie Garcia join him on the couch for some Q & A.

Last minute, a friend of mime was able to get me into the very intimate, guest list only, recording studio of Bob Weir for the next installment of “Weir Here”. The studio holds about 50 people max. The sound is as crisp as can be. The lighting was eh…bearable and uneven.
Prior to going live on the web, Bob and Warren worked out some vocal arrangements going over them with instruments a few times. I don’t think the live studio audience minded at all. The broadcast eventually went off about 30 mins late.
The format to “Weir Here” is pretty cool [see setlist pic above]. They jump right in, play a few songs, then take a break to the couch for short Q & A. Back to the stage for another mmini set; then back to the couch with other guests. Then they conclude with mini-set number 3.
Aside from the intimacy of the setting, what made it more special was the fact that it was on the eve of Jerry Garcia’s bday and had their special guests accordingly to play, talk and share stories about Jerry and his music. It truly was a special evening for me.
With that being said…a huge heartfelt thanks go out to everyone at TRI Studios for being so nice and kind with their hospitality. Peace & Love.
